THE CHALLENGE
As Rio Tinto prepared to open the “world’s most technologically advanced mine site” they were presented with multiple complexities during the construction phase and recognised a different approach was required in order to safeguard success whilst upholding their values (Care, Connection and Trust).
HOW DID WE HELP?
Twenty2 Collective were presented with the challenge of ensuring the mine was operationally ready to deliver in 2022. Post our initial discovery, we realised our primary task was to lift and mobilise capability to deliver on Rio Tinto’s objective and meet the deadline.

Working with the Operational Readiness Lead an accelerated Twenty2 Journey Map was developed

A small cross-functional team was established with the right skills to address the challenge

Working closely with the Operational Lead using the Twenty2 UVNO Methodology a compelling vision was created

Members of the team were trained and coached in ‘new ways of working’

Using immersive design thinking techniques the team were able to identify the employee experience

Through active stakeholder engagement, requirements were prioritised and sequenced to focus on areas of highest importance and value

An iterative approach was used to deliver incrementally, with the ability to demonstrate value delivered weekly

Leveraged facilitation techniques such as Lean Coffee and World Café to help manage change and minimise resistance

The team reflected at regular intervals in order to improve performance and inspire happiness
